Class 9-10 students to study 2 Indian languages, one for class 11-12
Under the New Curriculum Framework (NCF) aligned with the new National Education Policy (NEP), changes have been introduced in language learning requirements for students. Students in classes 9 and 10 are now required to study three languages, which includes two Indian native languages. On the other hand, students in classes 11 and 12 will need to study one Indian language and one other language. The NCF has been developed by the national steering committee, led by former ISRO chief K Kasturirangan, in accordance with the guidelines of the NEP.
